Apartment 13-04, Mon Reve Building, Downtown Dubai was one of the worst places we’ve stayed. The location is good and the rent relatively cheap, but the apartment was in very poor condition and unsuitable for families. I strongly do NOT recommend renting it under any circumstance. We arrived with three children aged 1, 3, and 4. We’d been told it was cleaned, but it was covered in dust and triggered severe allergies and constant sneezing for us and the children. We had to buy cleaning supplies and disinfectants, including Dettol, and clean the entire apartment ourselves just to stay there. The sheets were dirty, and the living room sofas were stained and so unpleasant they were unusable. The kitchen was filthy and unhygienic, with a strong unpleasant odor. The oven door was broken and detached, so we couldn’t use it. The air conditioning also didn’t work in all the rooms. We called the emergency number in the middle of the night, but nobody helped. The children couldn’t sleep in the heat. We were told nothing could be done until morning, and that we could either complete our five-day booking or leave without any refund, even though the full payment and security deposit had already been collected. We tried repeatedly to reach the agent and the host responsible for the apartment, Peter, but got no response. Everyone involved avoided responsibility. The treatment was extremely poor, and our children were put at risk because of the heat and lack of response.
