Grand Midwest Tower

We stayed from December 29 to January 2. The rooms are fairly spacious, but the hotel was extremely unclean from the entrance right through to the rooms. The smell at the entrance was unbearable. Our door didn’t work, and the extra bed still hadn’t been made, even though we arrived six hours after the scheduled time. The dining area was dirty too, breakfast choices were limited, and they served drinks with paper cups and plastic spoons. For a four-star hotel? I can’t see it as more than three stars, if that.

I spent seven days here with my family, and the two-bedroom suite we got was old and not clean. Getting clean towels every day was a big deal, and the staff didn’t seem to care about customers. The location was a bit tricky as well. When I came back at 9 pm, I found the front door open. The duty manager only started his shift after 1, by which time all the customers had checked out. To me, this felt like a three-star hotel.

The pool was the only decent thing about the hotel. We had booked a deluxe twin room with a balcony, but on arrival they put us in a room we hadn’t booked. They moved us the next day, but it had only one bed, so my daughter had to sleep on the sofa bed. We still hadn’t unpacked, and after speaking with the manager, we were told we had a studio room, so we finally unpacked. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, and we had to ask for the beds to be changed and for toiletries. I wouldn’t go back.

We booked a two-bedroom room for the Eid weekend, expecting the attractive interiors and comfortable rooms shown on the website. Instead, we found torn, dirty sofas, tables with sharp chipped edges, and horrible beds. The room wasn’t ready when we checked in, and there were no pillows or TV remotes. I complained to management, but got neither a response nor an apology, and nothing was changed. It seems they’re used to this crappy service. The entrance is very strange, and breakfast isn’t worth 75 AED. Wouldn’t recommend it or stay here again.
