Hyde Park Hotel

The room smelled bad, with foul-smelling curtains and restroom, and the windows were filthy. It was dirty throughout, and cockroaches seemed to greet us as soon as we entered. I told a housekeeping worker about them, and they gave me insect spray.

The hotel was amazing, and mr.kareem made our experience even more comfortable. He’s amazing!

We booked six nights but the place was unbearable, so we left after four. Management wouldn’t refund the two unused days. The room smelled bad and was full of cockroaches, and the hotel sits in a very crowded area. The locker didn’t work and was never replaced. There was no fridge until they brought one from another room. The washroom stopped working, and it took several reminders to get basic housekeeping or maintenance. The hygiene and management were extremely poor, with no customer care. Definitely not worth the money or stress. This is a negative star hotel.

The hotel experience was terrible, and I had to spend the night with friends. If I hadn’t had anyone to stay with, I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done, since nearby hotels were almost fully booked. I’d reserved through Booking, but when I arrived from the airport, the receptionist had a rather arrogant attitude and said my room had been sold to someone else for a higher price. They said they’d emailed me about it two hours earlier and didn’t care that I had a confirmed booking. Booking.com refunded me and apologized several times, but that didn’t change what happened.
