OYO 170 Roy Sand Hotel

The location is the main draw: shops, souqs and coffee shops are all nearby, and the Wi-Fi was excellent, better than at some 4- and 5-star hotels in Duabi. Staff were nice too. For a budget stay, the rooms were generally okay, though there wasn't much space for two beds. Cleanliness was only okay, and you have to ask for things like towels and room cleaning. They brought towels as soon as I asked, but the cockroaches were the worst part. Each time staff sprayed pesticide, small ones ran out into the room. That happened three times during my week there. Service needs improvement, and they should pay more attention to cleanliness. I stayed solo in October 2016. Room tip: ask for one away from the main street, which might be noisy during the day.

There are loads of shops and places to eat around this basic, clean, adequate budget hotel, right among Deira's souqs. The A/C was good.

It was cheap, which was one plus, but the rooms weren't good and the service was ridiculous. They didn't even offer breakfast. Easily my worst hotel experience.

White Sand is a nice hotel, with a welcoming feel and good service. I'd suggest people come here.
