Route 66 Beach Hostel

What made my month at Route 66 Hostel in JBR special was the people and how welcoming it felt. I met lifelong friends from Brazil, France, Japan, Australia, and elsewhere. Evenings became little international get-togethers with music, food, laughs, and conversations that went beyond the usual hostel small talk. The place has plenty for comfort and company: clean, cozy beds, reliable fast WiFi, a balcony to sit and watch the world, a kitchen where guests cook together, a pool table, and ample storage. I felt at home from the first day. Mr. Suneet, the owner, deserves a special mention. He truly cares about his guests and felt more like a guide and friend than just a host. One night Mateus from Brazil played guitar while we sang along on the balcony. Claire from France made crepes in the kitchen and told us about her village in the Alps. Kenji from Japan calmly showed us how to win at pool, and Liam from Australia helped me make proper Indian masala chai for everyone. We came from all over, but Route 66 brought us together like family. I arrived looking for a bed and left with memories, stories, and friendships I expect to last a lifetime. For me, Route 66 is one of the best hostels I've stayed in anywhere, and the best in JBR. If you're coming to Dubai, I wouldn't think twice.

The hostel seems to have been a nice place once, but management is letting it run down. The manager currently in charge doesn't seem to care about anything, including cleanliness or enforcing the 10:00 pm no-noise sign on the wall. I stayed there and witnessed people who weren't staying there coming in at all hours of the night. The doors are never locked, and the noise from people staying up and bringing friends in made trying to sleep a joke. There were men sleeping in the female dorms. I saw this on three nights after I stayed there. I wouldn't recommend it if safety matters.

We booked two days for three friends and ended up staying for 20. The host Angela and Talha were awesome, and the staff's behavior and the cleanliness impressed me. I got lots of help from the host, and we quickly became good friends thanks to his charming personality. The cute balcony has some eye-catching views, and the hostel has everything you'd want in JBR. The tram, metro, and beach are nearby. I enjoyed the stay to the fullest. Best hostel space I've stayed in, 10/10 recommended!

The beds were comfortable, not too springy or too hard, and the bunks have blackout curtains for privacy. The bathrooms are usually very clean, and there's a balcony with a good view. It's in one of Dubai's poshest areas, yet the price is great. The hosts were welcoming, especially Miss Halima. Really impressive hospitality. Recommended!
