Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort

Breakfast was fresh and lovely, and the chef even came over to check that we were enjoying it. Blessing at the breakfast reception was so welcoming, polite, and helpful with my baby and older daughter. She also brought us a 'Thank you for staying' cake, such a lovely gesture. Our newly renovated room was perfect and really clean. We had a fantastic stay at the Sheraton JBR and would definitely come again.

The people working here are the best part, and the Club lounge is excellent. Assistant manger Sohaila made us feel welcome as Marriott titanium members and did an amazing job. She deserves a promotion. Jazz from the club lounge also made our stay memorable. Staff fixed a minor room issue, and we had a nice view and a great location close to everything. We didn't realize how kid-friendly the hotel was, and since it was fully booked there were more children than we expected, some loud and unpleasant around the pool and beach. We went to nearby adults only places during the day. The Chinese restaurant was bad, and the restaurants need improvement overall. Compared with other 5 star hotels, Sheraton's amenities are below average. Keep the good staff, or the rating could drop significantly.

The hotel management contacted me after I shared my feedback and took it on board. They kindly offered to invite us back to one of their hotels, but we are happy to move on. I mainly want future guests to know clearly what kind of event they are booking. The Eid brunch at Seafield Mediterranean Eatery, Sheraton JBR, was promoted as an Eid Al Adha Brunch Special, with family festivities, live entertainment, kids' activities, Middle Eastern touches, a generous buffet, and live cooking stations. We expected a dedicated Eid celebration. Instead, it felt like the regular Saturday brunch and holiday pool scene, with outside guests in the same restaurant area as hotel guests using the pool and beach. Hotels should say plainly when an Eid event is just the usual restaurant alongside regular pool and beach traffic. I understand that hotel guests on holiday will wear swimwear. That wasn't the issue. We arrived dressed for a celebration, then repeatedly had people walking through in swimwear with soaking wet towels, including topless men. It left us embarrassed and uncomfortable for dressing up. We've been to many hotel Eid events and never seen this. The doors to the beach and pool stayed open, so the venue was very warm. The music was so loud we had to shout to hear each other, and the atmosphere felt more like an Ibiza-style holiday club than a family Eid gathering. There was little Eid or Islamic atmosphere beyond a few signs, someone in an Arabic-style costume, and caricature drawings, while loud western party music played. The food disappointed too. Service was slow, dishes sat empty, and the quality and variety fell well short of what was advertised. We expected seafood and live cooking stations, but I don't remember seeing any stations and there was very little seafood. My children ended up with a couple of pizza slices, which was really disappointing for the price and promotion. The brunch felt misleadingly advertised and nothing like the Eid experience promised.

Jojo looked after us so well at dinner in the Chinese restaurant. We met him again at breakfast, where he brought a cake for my in-laws, who were visiting for the first time. The pool was great, and when there was a problem with my pizza, they replaced it quickly. The chef came over to our table too. Nice people, lovely newly renovated rooms, and an amazing experience. We'd definitely stay again.
