Splendor Hotel Apartments Al Barsha

A good friend of mine lives here, and I’ve visited her a few times. The apartment rooms in the area are affordable.

The location is calm and peaceful, with plenty nearby: a barber, tea shop, laundry, groceries, eateries, and a gym. Farrouj Hut has extremely great tea. I lived in the building for two years. It’s generally okay and can be good value if you find a good apartment, though renting just a single room is expensive. There are no amenities in the building. Bed bugs are especially common on the second floor, and internet problems depend on the landlord or whether you rented a complete apartment.

It’s a calm place to stay and doesn’t get as overcrowded as some places I’ve visited before. Getting there is easy, and it’s also very easy to head anywhere in Dubai. Mall of the Emirates is close, less than 10 minutes away on foot. Grocery stores are opposite and beside the building, with barbershops nearby, too. There’s a business or typing centre about a minute down the road from Splendor Hotel Apartment.

The Wi-Fi worked well, which is the only reason I’m giving this place one star. Our apartment wasn’t ready even though we’d booked a week ahead. Nothing was clean, including the dirty bed sheets, and there were bugs throughout. There was no kettle, no cups, and no lights for the lamp. Be prepared to clean the place yourself.
