Sunday Hotel Al Barsha

The room itself was the only good part. I stayed four to five days, and the service and staff behavior were far below expectations. The receptionist, bellboy, and security staff were rude and unprofessional, and customer service was practically nonexistent. I've had much better hospitality at plenty of 3-star hotels. This place doesn't deserve a 4-star rating. Even getting a bottle of water was a struggle. I called reception three times, and it arrived only after my fourth call. Completely unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be 4-star. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone hoping for a comfortable, pleasant stay.

Ayoub left a lasting impression on our choir. He was always there with a sincere smile, guiding us around the hotel and promptly helping with every need. His patience, kindness, dedication, and respectful manner made a real difference to all of us. It's rare to find such genuine hospitality. Our stay at Grand Excelsior Hotel – Al Barsha during our Dubai visit was unforgettable. We felt welcome from the start, and the comfortable rooms, excellent service, and warm atmosphere made us feel valued and at home. Everything was organized to a high standard, so we could focus on our performances and enjoy the visit in peace. Thank you to Ayoub and the whole team for making our Dubai stay feel like a beautiful dream. We leave with wonderful memories and deep appreciation.

The parking setup feels misleading. The hotel advertises parking, and reception talks about “Basement 1 parking” as if it's a normal facility, but that level is just a tiny area with around nine spaces, almost always full. For a hotel this size, calling it guest parking is questionable. The actual hotel parking is in Basement 2, and guests are charged AED 30 per day to use it. Most people arriving by car have little realistic chance of finding a Basement 1 spot, so they end up paying. This wasn't clearly explained at booking and sets up false expectations, even if parking technically exists. The arrival was chaotic too. There's no proper place to unload luggage, no staff outside to guide you, and no clear sign showing where to park. I had to stop my car in a second position and go inside to ask. Reception was crowded with several long queues and unhappy, visibly frustrated guests complaining about the wait. The whole first impression was very disappointing.

The room had a lovely old-fashioned, distinctive charm, and I really liked the decor. It was clean and well looked after, and the housekeeping was excellent. Ms. Rijita at reception was welcoming and professional, always greeting guests with a pleasant smile. The one small thing I'd change is the lack of a waste bin in the bedroom. There was one in the bathroom, but I couldn't find one by the reading table where the TCMF is kept, so I had to go to the bathroom whenever I needed to throw something away. Please consider adding one for future guests. Otherwise, I was very satisfied and hope to visit again, hopefully with a bedroom bin next time. 😜
