Hotel Voco Monaco Dubai by IHG -Adults Only Hotel

We were told before booking and again at check-in that the kids could use the swimming pools. Then we were asked to leave the three pools near Rive Restaurant. The manager said they were “water bodies,” not pools, so children couldn't use them. The main pool was far too loud for kids. As of 23rd March 2026, the hotel had no cribs, no baby chairs, and no children's playroom, so it didn't seem equipped to operate as a child friendly resort despite promoting itself that way. Staff at every level seemed confused and gave conflicting information. What was upsetting was that nobody made any effort to address what was clearly an unsatisfactory guest experience.

They call this place family and kid friendly, but it was far from that. We weren't accommodated at all, and the music blasted loudly all day. Staff were extremely rude and inconsiderate, with poor service throughout. It was shocking. Don't waste your money.

Kamlesh gave me great service, including a complimentary room upgrade and birthday arrangements. After checkout I realized I'd left my watch at the hotel, and he found it and organized to have it sent to me. Overall, a good hotel for private events with good service. I'm grateful for his help.

The main drawback for me is getting to the island by boat from Dubai. The transfer now leaves from Al Wasl Waterfront Terminal, where there are no free parking spots nearby. I have to use paid parking and renew it every hour to avoid a ticket, which makes it hard to relax. Previously, the boat left from a station opposite the Habtoor Hotel, where parking was free and access to the terminal was easy. Apart from that hassle, the hotel is excellent and regularly has events. The restaurant and buffet are excellent, the pools are large and clean, and the sea is clean with clear water. The staff are respectful and helpful. Habiba at reception gave me a warm welcome and checked me in quickly.
