Sh Hotel

The biggest problem was the hygiene. There were bed bugs & cockroaches, and the place felt unhealthy and badly maintained. It was dirty, uncomfortable, and not like what had been advertised. This was an awful stay for me, and I won’t return. People should think carefully before spending their money here, since better options are available elsewhere.

I paid AED 140 per night in December, and the reception staff were cooperative. The room itself was in poor condition, with dirt, peeling paint, and insects. The television channels also didn’t work, and staff said the problem affected every room because of missing channel connectivity. I tried the 1st floor and then another floor, but nothing changed, so I left and booked elsewhere after one night. Clubs on the ground floor and 4th floor made the rooms especially loud at night.

The noise made sleep impossible, with music from a nightclub in or near the hotel continuing all night. The curtains also let in the morning light, and the room had only one small yellow bulb that was uncomfortable for the eyes. Even the safe in the closet would not open, buzzing for over half an hour until its battery died. The place already looked unappealing from outside, surrounded by sand and dust, and inside there was a bad smell. The room had an odd odor too. I started itching and getting bites as soon as I used the bed. Housekeeping only changed the sheets after I complained about our irritated skin. The TV had no remote, and reception said, “We don’t have any.” When I asked about connecting my own device, they replied, “The TV doesn’t work.” The furniture was old, dirty, and worn out as well. We had booked two nights but left straight after the first. It was such a disturbing experience that I wouldn’t repeat it even for free. I strongly advise avoiding this hotel.

We had an emergency in Jabel Jais and came to the hotel after booking a room, but Neelash then told us he could not give us the room. That was extremely disappointing, especially in those circumstances. His manner with customers was inappropriate and very rude. Management really needs to look into this and review whether he should be working at reception.
