Al Hamra Beach and Golf Resort

Prashant and Swami made our evening at Samphire Bar at Sofitel Al Hamra especially memorable. They were attentive, friendly, and professional, and their cocktail suggestions were exactly right. The drinks were presented beautifully, and their genuine hospitality made us want to stay longer. The atmosphere, drinks, and overall vibe were already excellent, but their skill and passion for service really stood out. Huge compliments to both of them. We’re looking forward to visiting again.

We stayed in a luxury garden view room in early Feb 2026. It was tastefully decorated, with high ceilings, and the pool area still had enough chairs at any time of day. The staff were consistently friendly and professional. When our airport ride was delayed, they lent us a car seat and arranged another taxi so we could catch the flight. We enjoyed the French, Polynesian, and buffet meals, including a buffet I’d normally be unlikely to choose. The egg station queue can be long in the morning, and getting a drink at the buffet sometimes meant flagging down a waiter. Construction of a large hotel/casino across the water affects the view, though it wouldn’t stop me staying. Future refurbishment could avoid white or cream sofas that show marks and make the rooms look more dated. Thicker toilet paper would also help. I’d still gladly recommend the Sofitel for a stay in RAK.

George the East restaurant manager was warm and attentive throughout, and Ahmed at the pool took great care of us. Uttar and the rest of the team were just as friendly, always smiling and willing to help. The room at Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort was spacious, beautifully arranged, and absolutely spotless. From arrival onward, everything felt welcoming and easy. Many thanks to the whole team for making the stay so memorable. We’ll be back.

The swimming area support team were kind, professional, and very attentive to guests, making that part of the experience genuinely pleasant. The restaurant spaces, however, need better cleanliness and organization, and check-in took longer than expected. I appreciated the excellent care from the swimming support team and hope the other points can be improved for future guests.
