This was a bad motel and I won’t go back. The furniture looked extremely old, like it had been there since the 1970s, and even the box TV was outdated. Wi-Fi cost 5 dhs per hour, although hotels across the UAE provide it free. There was dirt under the bed, and the curtains looked as if they hadn’t been washed for a year or more. The bed sheets smelled so strongly of Clorox that I couldn’t sleep. The bathroom was old, and the towels were grey, though I suspect they may once have been white. The kitchen only had a small refrigerator, which was old and dirty, plus a mini bar with Pringles, Coke, and Snickers, all priced at 10 dhs. The beach was covered with stones. Around the sandy beach area were trees, with leaves scattered everywhere. The receptionist was also a little dumb, and the golden wall paint was awful.

If your main concern is spending a couple of days by the beach, Golden Beach Motel may suit you. It has what is described as the emirate’s longest private beach. The building is old and only minimally maintained, so it’s less suitable if you expect a well-kept property beyond the beach.

The staff aren’t friendly. The person who usually answers the phone is rude and doesn’t give useful answers to questions. The attitude is basically, “take it or leave it.”
