Sandals Grande Antigua - ALL INCLUSIVE Couples Only

The staff made this trip both relaxing and fun, which stood out because we have visited other all-inclusive resorts. JT, one of the photographers, deserves special thanks for capturing such a meaningful time for my husband and me. His photos were beautiful, and he was also genuinely fun to talk with, giving the trip an extra personal touch. The weather was awesome, the food was great, and we would definitely return.

The beach and grounds were excellent. The sea grass was cleaned every day, the white sand felt lovely underfoot, and everything was well maintained. There were plenty of restaurants and the food was great. Mickel, Dionne, and Daren were amazing butlers, very attentive and quick with our orders. Butler service is worth considering. However, communication between them and the front desk needs work. We asked for a cab at 3pm, but at 3:05 the front desk had no idea about it. Luckily, we still made our flight. The rooms feel dated, with scratched furniture, a small shower head, and low water pressure. Since the beach is public, vendors regularly approached us, and Sandals spa and photography staff repeatedly asked about appointments and pictures. That made it harder to relax. In my opinion, the overall experience did not justify the price.

Our butler team, hunter, June and Jessica, made our return to Sandals Grande Antigua truly memorable. It was our first time using butler service, and we felt the extra cost was worth it. We have stayed at this and other Sandals resorts without butlers too, and have always enjoyed ourselves. The resort is attractive and well kept, although some areas are dated. Staff told us renovations and updates are planned. We liked having a quiet pool option as well as a busier pool with music. The beach is very large and beautiful. Vendors approached, but a polite no thank you was enough. Cruise ship visitors made it busier at times, but we had no trouble with chairs or anything specifically belonging to Sandals. Food was good, with some restaurants better than others depending on taste. Service could be slow, but we tried to relax, enjoy the views, and remember we were on vacation.

Our anniversary stay was enjoyable overall, though some parts were hit or miss. The Sunset Bluff poolside room was clean, updated, and had a lovely view, while the beach was extraordinary. The resort itself had a close, intimate feel, with winding paths and lush gardens. Food was the biggest disappointment. We did not expect the choices to include hotdogs and pizza, and both the menus and room service selection felt limited. Drinks were good, although service could be slow. Entertainment did not seem to be a strong feature, as we only heard someone singing once. We had to wait for the room to be ready, but the staff were kind and helpful when we asked.
