The beach at Jumby Bay was stunning in August, with soft white sand and plenty of available chairs, and we loved how easy and safe it was to get around by bike. The food was great too. What really made the stay, though, was the staff. From John at the Veranda during dinner to Samantha at breakfast, everyone was kind, genuine, and engaging, and we felt part of a little community. It was my first visit, and I was surprised by how happy they all seemed. Jumby Bay is a magical place, and we’ll be back. My only wish was for a few more rugs in the room, including bath mats and something under the bed. Without those small touches, the room felt a bit cold instead of warm and homey.

The place itself is beautiful, but the food was very average and the service was very poor. There are so many other great places to choose from.

The problems started around the pool, where a piece of glass was left behind and hurt my leg. There was also a piece of plastic in an ice cream I was about to consume, which was dangerous. I lost my hat and told the hotel immediately, but they didn’t check for it right away, so it was lost. After room service, some cups from my room hadn’t been cleaned up and were left on a sheep statue outside the door. When I asked for a buggy to the dinner venue, farm, the driver hadn’t been told where I was going, so I had to explain it myself. Checkout was another issue. I requested a buggy, waited 20 minutes, and when it still didn’t arrive, I had to carry everything and walk from my room to the front. Water also kept coming out of the air conditioner. I asked the hotel to fix or clean it, but nothing was done during my stay. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a luxury hotel.

We came to this lovely private island in April 24 as a group of nine for a special occasion. Access is limited to villa owners and hotel guests, and the bars were well stocked with premium spirits. Staff were always available and willing to help with whatever we needed. We happened to visit during a school holiday, which likely affected the atmosphere. There were many children and young families, so couples may want to avoid those dates. Even so, I would highly recommend the hotel.

The people at Jumby Bay made our honeymoon unforgettable. They remembered our dining preferences and allergies, and everyone treated us with so much care. Nichol and Keisha welcomed us with huge smiles, while Omari was waiting at the bar when we arrived. At the lunch grill, Yjaira, Susie, Akeila, Maureen, and Deno made us feel completely at home, and Antoine always made sure we were comfortable. We also had a fantastic time with the activities. The snorkeling stood out because the team shared so much local knowledge and the reef was incredibly healthy. Wake surfing, tennis, and the circumnavigation tour were wonderful too, and the spa massage was exactly what we needed. The beach boys, Travis, Chris, Lawson (Tiny), Rodney, and Keyon, kept us supplied and brought great energy every day. Jason, the sommelier at the Veranda, gave us an excellent wine experience, and Sean, Randy, and Von took wonderful care of us on the boat trips. The stay began smoothly with the airport fast pass and a beautiful 10-minute boat transfer to the island. We’re probably forgetting some names, but thank you to everyone at Jumby Bay. We can’t wait to return.
