Hotel Portik

Portik hotel is in a very convenient location, with pleasant rooms and helpful staff who are always willing to assist. Parking is available in the lot beneath the hotel. The rooftop restaurant is a lovely spot for both breakfast and dinner. I’d recommend staying here.

I only needed to stop for a minute to unload a few things, but the hotel staff wouldn’t let me park there. That was especially frustrating because I’ve paid for their underground parking about a dozen times before. They seemed interested in taking money without offering even minimal service or polite behavior. A very disappointing and disturbing experience, and a shame given the so-called Albanian hospitality. The pictures show the situation, I was in the far right corner.

There was no one else in the restaurant, which became understandable once dinner service started. The service was chaotic, and when we asked for pasta, we were told condescendingly that they didn’t have any. The chefs were sitting at the table eating sunflower seeds. A terrible experience, I’d avoid this place.

The setting is hard to beat, and the view over the city from breakfast is astonishing. The breakfast itself is fairly standard, while the service and hygiene were only about 6/10. Having a garage for the car is a big plus.
