A lovely family and the real Albanian hospitality. The room was very clean and the WiFi was fast. 😊

I was travelling alone and found this cosy, sweet place affordable, with a super clean, comfortable room and everything needed for a good stay. I had my own terrace, too. The guesthouse grounds are full of flowers, with views of the castle and city.

The host and hostess were so welcoming and gave us an introduction to the city, including the main sights to see. We had our own bathroom and kitchenette, and the balcony looked out at Gjirokastra castle and the clock tower. Breakfast with the sheep climbing the steep castle slope was so quiet and calming. The location is great, about five minutes up the road to the city centre, with all the dining and souvenir options. The bus station wasn’t too far either, though you do have to walk uphill, as you do in mountain towns. A really nice place, and I highly recommend booking it when visiting Gjirokastra.

My stay was a very bad experience. I had planned to stay for a week if things went well, but left for another hotel after two days. The owner seemed too proud and complacent, and couldn’t tolerate complaints. I clearly showed them that the AC heater and water heater had serious problems. The owner refused to acknowledge them and made me leave early, disregarding my rights and how difficult it was to find another hotel at short notice. This was the worst hotel!!! Fortunately, the owners at the second hotel were very nice; otherwise, I would have left town with a bad impression. I hope bad hotels like this close soon and stop harming the good reputation of this beautiful city.
