FAFA Sun Hotel

I do not recommend a holiday at Fafa Sun Hotel. It is nowhere near a five star standard, perhaps closer to two stars. Cleanliness was poor, the food was monotonous, the area was messy and full of rubbish, and the crowded beach was dirty. The road to the hotel was potholed and covered in garbage, with a bad smell around it. Our room was dirty when we arrived and stayed that way. Cleaning was only superficial, the floor was never properly cleaned, and the bedding was not fresh. We had to ask for clean towels and even toilet paper. Staff were mostly unhelpful or rude, although the male waiters had good manners. The female waiters sang, danced, and made noise while guests were eating, which felt unprofessional. Cups, glasses, and dishes were often dirty, sometimes still marked with another person's lipstick. There was no cleaning machine and everything was washed by hand. Hot water from the drinks machine was often yellow. Only limited water was available from dispensers, so we repeatedly had to go downstairs to fill our bottle. There was one inside the main restaurant, one near the pool outside, and another in the restaurant that opened only during meals. Breakfast and dinner were usually the same, with only occasional new dishes, and many items were cold. Some food was transported from another hotel, so it was not as fresh or hot as it should have been. The cakes and baked goods tasted like chemicals. There was only one bar near the pool, and machine coffee was available only from 7:30 to 10:30, even when we asked for it at other times. The hotel could not handle a large number of guests or stormy weather. There were not enough seats in the restaurant, so some people had to stand and eat. We also suffered foodborne illness, and heard that many other guests had it too, despite using bottled water to brush our teeth and being careful about what we ate. I saw how places were cleaned and food was served, and there was clearly a lack of hygiene. The photos and positive opinions made us choose this hotel, but the reality was pathetic. We spent the holiday counting the days until it ended and felt more tired afterward. This was our first and last visit, and there are definitely better places for family holidays.

The staff are really kind and helpful, and the pool is clean. The food is good too. Fafa Sun is a good hotel for tourists staying a couple of days.

We really enjoyed how clean, quiet, and well-kept Fafa Sun was. Our room had plenty of space, breakfast tasted great, and the staff were kind and helpful. The sea isn't right outside, but the beach is an easy short walk away. We'd happily come back.

The evening entertainment was so much fun, and there were plenty of good food choices. Check-in was quick, with smiling reception staff ready to help. Everything felt just right for what we wanted from a hotel. Highly recommended!
