Himara 28 Hotel

The hotel’s location is excellent, just a stone’s throw from the public beach, with good amenities and some nice restaurants nearby. The room itself was modern, clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for such a central spot. Having a sea-view balcony was also nice, although the very loud unit mounted on the wall made it less enjoyable. The main problems were the breakfast and parking. Breakfast was fine but nothing special, and the staff always seemed rushed. Every day, we had to chase them repeatedly for things we had ordered, and sometimes we eventually gave up. There was no clear menu, and the communication was so quick and unclear that we often didn’t know what was happening. We were also told beforehand that parking was available, but this turned out to be a miscommunication. The staff tried to sort it out, though the explanations were confusing and contradictory, and they weren’t as helpful as we’d hoped. So while there’s nothing seriously wrong with the hotel, at €100 a night I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The rooms were clean, the food was great, and the beach was only about 30 seconds away. Eric is a wonderful host who really looks after his guests. For the hidden beaches, take a private boat. And if you’re trying to avoid heavy tourism, skip ksamil and come here instead.

The best part was the setting, right on the beach, where they serve a fantastic breakfast in the morning. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were kind and helpful. Great hotel.

July 2024 The hotel is tucked between the beach and the road leading to it, so I’ve added pictures to help with finding it. It’s also only about a three-minute walk from the bus station and drop-off at Red Market, which is probably where you’ll catch the bus, though you should check with the bus company. I was confused about where I’d be dropped off and picked up, so I wanted to mention this first. My room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The downside was that the Air Con wasn’t working. The front desk said they were dealing with it, but nobody came to repair the AC. Luckily, the room had a patio, so I left the door open at night.
