Ilion Hotel

The beach is around 500 meters away, and you can either walk there or use a golf cart to pick you up. August is really crowded, but there's plenty happening at night, including live music and events.

The balcony and hotel views are lovely, although the property sits up the mountain and you have to climb roughly 100 meters from the beach. The rooms are acceptable for a two-star hotel, but ours were very basic for the 380€ we paid for a week. The staircase carries every sound, so even small footsteps were loud. It didn't feel like good value, though I don't know how much the agency keeps, so that's difficult to judge. Check-in was the worst I've experienced. The agency had mixed up the room occupancy for our two couples, putting the women and men in the wrong rooms. Even though the main guest was correct and we were all on one booking, the owner argued for half an hour and refused to let us in. He was rude and didn't want to speak to the women, so we had to call the agency and ask them to tell him to calm down. After speaking with them for ten seconds, he let us enter. The whole situation was completely unnecessary. The owner doesn't speak English, German, French, or Russian. He communicates through Google Translate, which works somehow.

I arrived with a booking and ended up with nowhere to stay. Because there was a festival and people were searching for beds, they sold my room to someone else. We arrived at 6 instead of 3, and the rude older man, who was sitting by the road looking for guests, shouted that there was no room because we were too late. It felt like the room had been sold again. Extremely rude and unacceptable.

The owner and staff were very helpful, and the hotel was cleaned every other day. Breakfast had several options to choose from. The main problem was the internet, which was extremely poor. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, so we had to stand in the corridor to get a connection.
