ELÉA Guesthouse himare

Our two-night stay at ELEA Guesthouse was in a double room with a sea-view balcony, and we had a beautiful outlook over Himare. Christine was a wonderful host, and the guesthouse is only a short drive from some of the area’s best beaches, including Filikuri Beach. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and thoughtfully prepared, with croissants, boiled eggs or omelettes, homemade yoghurt with granola, figs and banana, small cheese bites, and a drink of our choice. Dinner was so good that we ate at the guesthouse on both nights. The grilled seabream and beefsteak were sublime, especially the generous steak with caramelised onion sauce. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend this hidden gem in the Himare region.

This is a lovely family-run business, with polite and welcoming staff who were always willing to help with whatever we needed. The room itself was spacious, good value, and had a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. Unfortunately, our side-view room was partially blocked. Staff entered while we were out to turn off the A/C, which was understandable, but the bathroom bin wasn’t emptied and the toilet roll wasn’t replaced. The shower would be better with glass instead of a curtain, or as an open wet room since the drainage is already there. We booked a week, although I’d suggest staying for a shorter period.

The hotel is very cute, with a great view, a clean and charming room, and a nice breakfast. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful, especially when our car broke down and they went to great lengths to assist us. One window had no blinds, so the sun woke us quite early, but we still enjoyed our two-night stay.

Getting away from the hustle and bustle was wonderful, and the large balcony had a stunning view. The room was clean, modern, and worked well for four people, though you’ll need a car if you want to use this as your base. The restaurant was the real highlight. Both dinner and breakfast were fantastic Greek style, and it was the best food we had during our 2 weeks in Albania. The hosts were friendly and very professional.
