The views and location are good, but the room was possibly the worst I’ve ever stayed in. It was very, very dusty, so anyone with allergies should avoid it. The bathroom was awful, with almost no ventilation, and you had to call to ask for toilet paper. The staff were otherwise helpful. They don’t accept cards for rooms or food, or their machine has a suspiciously low payment limit.

The family running Rooms Merlika made the stay memorable. They were warm, welcoming, and always willing to help, whether we needed a taxi or advice on places to visit. The setting inside the castle is beautiful, with breathtaking views, a delicious homemade breakfast, and their lovely cats around. It may not feel like a traditional 4-star hotel, but the atmosphere more than makes up for that. Rooms Merlika was a wonderful experience, and we’re already looking forward to returning.

Our private cabin looked across the mountains at sunset, which was fantastic. The evening food was delicious, and everything is walkable from Rooms Merlika. We loved exploring the castle, especially the little nearby streets with their additional historic places. The Kruje Mountain Hiking Trail is close by too, and it took us around 2 hours to reach the top. We had a fabulous stay.

The owners are such a lovely couple, always smiling, and their hospitality was amazing. Our room and the whole place were charming, while breakfast was both delicious and huge. We had byrek and house wine for dinner. When we left, they even gave us a 5 liter water for our trip. Highly recommend!☺️

The location is convenient by the castle and within walking distance of town, the parking is up on the hill, and the view is gorgeous. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was extremely poor. We booked a room for 3 people but were given an “upgrade” to 4 beds in a very outdated room with a slightly musty smell. The beds seemed clean, but after dinner we found bugs throughout the bathroom and bedroom. More appeared from behind the wall painting when we accidentally touched it. The owner’s wife rolled her eyes and shook her head when we asked to change rooms. They offered bug spray, but we didn’t want to spray it over our beds and pillows before sleeping. After a long argument, they finally gave us another room and charged extra for it. Breakfast was included, but kitchen equipment problems caused a delay. They also made it clear that each person could have only 1 cup of tea OR coffee. WiFi was barely strong enough for a Google search.
