Foga Aous

Mornings and lunch, which were included, were very hearty. The room itself was nice, very clean and new, and it is still a nice place, but there are some real problems. Noise insulation was extremely poor, so we could hear everything outside. Parking was a disaster. The way out is a very steep downhill slope, and getting out was a bad experience, with no other option. I was told the hotel was beachfront, but the beach it provides is a 15-minute walk away. I also wouldn't recommend the beach restaurant: the food I got was very disappointing for such an expensive price.

The rooms are stylish, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated, and the hotel is close enough to walk to nice restaurants, bars, and beach clubs. Ed was a really friendly, accommodating host who welcomed me on arrival and checked in during my stay to make sure things were going well. Foga Aous private beach was gorgeous, with clean blue water, and it felt tucked away from the crowds. Part of the beach was still under construction when I visited. The open section had chic netted umbrellas and poster day beds, so I think it will look great when fully open. Lovely beach, great breakfast, great hotel. I'll definitely return.

The staff were unfriendly, spoke little English, and there was no proper reception. Breakfast was the same every day and served a five-minute walk from the hotel. The so-called private beach was nearly 30 minutes away on foot. I stayed for 9 days and was very disappointed with the room and housekeeping. The bathroom was in bad shape, with a broken toilet seat, clogged sink, rusty fittings, and lights that didn't work. The room was never properly cleaned, sheets were reused, and we went days without clean towels or toilet paper. Housekeeping stopped coming after a few days and ignored the “Do Not Disturb” sign several times. The stay was uncomfortable, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

On our last morning we had a 4:45 a.m. ferry in Sarandë, and the owner personally drove us there. The staff went above and beyond whenever we needed anything. We visited from Denver, Colorado (August 11-15), and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The location was perfect, just steps from several beaches, with restaurants and bars all around. Exceptional hospitality.
