Ksamil holiday

The rooms were good and had a perfect view. Service at the beach was a bit slow, and the staff weren't very kind.

It's a long, rough walk to the center, about 20 minutes over roads with rubble and rubbish, and getting to shops or restaurants is difficult. There were two places in the center for the same price, though they only had a room, no kitchen or sea view. I picked this one because the Google and booking photos and description promised a sea view and balcony, but there is no water or sea view at all. The real distance to the center should be stated, and booking .com should show actual room photos. The listing shouldn't call a kettle a coffee maker. There was no coffee or tea maker, just a kettle, and no ceramic mugs for hot drinks. The glasses were wet or had water marks. A tea bag or instant coffee would have been useful with the shops so far away. A ceramic mug and clean, dry glasses are basic things, not five-star extras. The owner should remove misleading photos from google and booking. Com. These are not pictures of this property, and it doesn't have the view shown.

We really enjoyed our time in Ksamil and got excellent value for the money. Our room was spacious, clean, and air-conditioned. The owners were kind and helpful, with great advice that helped us make the most of our stay. I highly recommend it.

The sea and beaches are beautiful, with cliffs and spectacular views. That beauty made the trip worthwhile, despite the poor driving comfort. A lot of the roads are still unpaved, and speculative building has spread without urban planning. Traffic is chaotic: drivers, especially local Albanian drivers, seem to ignore even basic rules when driving or parking. People on two-wheelers also often ride without helmets. It's a choice to make, knowing the sea is lovely but many other things about the country leave a lot to be desired.
