Guesthouse Bimbli

Our fourth-floor room had two terraces and a lovely view over the lake. The bigger terrace was especially nice in the evening, with the promenade and the restaurant's summer terrace just in front, although it stayed in full sun all day and had neither an awning nor a parasol. We stayed for two nights, and everything was clean. The staff were kind, the food was delicious, and the fries and eel were particularly tasty. Breakfast had limited choice but was still good. The room included a hairdryer, shampoo, soap, one small towel, and one large towel per person. We were there in mid-June and didn't encounter any mosquitoes. I recommend it.

A coffee break at Bimbli was enough to give me a feel for the standard they aim for. The place was spotless, the coffee was good, and the service was warm and welcoming. The new outdoor decorations made it feel even more inviting. I'd happily come back and recommend it.

I only ate at the restaurant, I didn't stay at the guesthouse or use the private beach. Both meals were excellent. One was veal liver in mushroom and wine sauce with a salad, and the other was veal innards served with chargrilled vegetables. Service was excellent too. I especially liked the atmosphere in the front courtyard, which looks toward the lake, beach, and park.

The setting is right beside one of the liveliest streets along the water, yet the rooms are insulated well enough that we couldn't hear the outside noise. The rooms were modern and very clean, and the air conditioning worked properly, which mattered during the hot summer weather. The owners' family and the staff were all kind and accommodating. Their restaurant served excellent breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There was also a private beach area across the street with rentable beach chairs, which was a pleasant extra.
