Arrei Hotel

Sotiri and the Arrei Hotel staff gave us hospitality beyond what we expected. We came from the USA but were Albanian from Shkodra, and staying here became the highlight of our trip to Albania. Sotiri even brought us water after overhearing us talking about it. The hotel is beautiful, with luxurious accommodation and stunning views of the Ionian Sea, and everything felt thoughtful and genuine. There’s a steep road on the other side, but that isn’t the owner’s fault because the area is under development. The abandoned building in front is also part of that situation. This is a true gem in Sarandë.

The young woman at reception welcomed me warmly with a smile and showed me the different rooms when I asked. I was impressed by the modern, almost brand-new feel of the family 4 person duplex. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of variety and delicious homemade food. After my first day, I was already encouraging everyone to book here. If I return to Albania, this will be the only place I stay.

The rooms were exceptionally clean and modern during our 4-day stay, and the staff were amazing and extremely helpful when recommending places to visit in Sarandë. Breakfast was very good, with a wide selection of food. I’d definitely stay here again.

Although the room and lobby looked clean and modern, our booked front sea view was completely blocked by an ugly grey building, so we couldn’t see the sea at all. The hotel is nowhere near the beach bars or restaurants, and the surroundings felt sketchy and abandoned. Parking was just large stones that could damage car tires. We cancelled immediately after arriving because it wasn’t worth the money.
