Cakalli Hotel

Joan was always available and helped me with everything I needed. The staff were so friendly and made me feel at home. It's easy to get around from here, with everything in the city close by and taxis waiting right outside. Breakfast had plenty of options and was good. There's also a fantastic Greek restaurant next door called Meraki, with amazing food. I loved my stay and highly recommend the hotel.

When they noticed I'd accidentally reserved one day less than I meant to, they were understanding. I only had to pay for the extra day, and they even gave me a discount. Really friendly staff and awesome service.

The location is really good, but after just one night I know I won't come back. There's no reception, so anything you need to ask has to go through the pizzeria on the first floor. The room had no blankets, and the bathroom had no curtain or glass, so water got everywhere. We put towels on the floor to keep things from becoming a mess. Breakfast is a single option: you have to find someone to ask, then she makes fried eggs with tomato and brings some juice and sweets. She was very nice, but if you don't like that, there's nothing else.

There was nobody to complain to or even talk with, because there was no staff around. This felt like an apartment, not a hotel. There weren't any kettles, glasses, or cups, which would've mattered if we'd needed to take medicine. We only had bedsheets, no blankets, and the sheets were dirty. Outside, music from a Ferris wheel played until 1 or 2 am, then construction drilling woke us at 7am. The windows didn't close properly, so you could hear even someone sneezing outside. If you're over 35 and need a good night's sleep, this isn't the place for you. Maybe at 22 I wouldn't have minded an apartment like this.
