The Hairy Lemon is a regular apartment converted into a small hostel, and I really loved it. Ricardo and Andrea are so friendly that they make you feel like they’ve known you for ages. The hostel was very clean, with a nice view across the city and the sunset. The kitchen has everything you need. For me, it’s the best hostel in Albania.

A small, super chill hostel with really nice people and a legit pancake breakfast. The balcony has a great view of the sunset over the water. The only downside is that the rooms get kind of hot, though it’s not too bad.

The staff were cool, and the hostel was nice, clean and social, with a good kitchen guests can use. It’s only 20-30 metres from the beach, and the balcony view is heaven. What a great country and city. Love Albania.

The view is lovely, and the beach is very close. There’s a big balcony too. The place is an apartment, though, and feels a bit small. The lift often seemed to be out of order, and the bathrooms were always occupied. There were two volunteers, but they barely spoke, which brought the atmosphere down. One of them also made me feel uncomfortable. It’s a bit of a walk to the center and the bus stop.

The people running Hairy Lemon are wonderful, and so are the views and crepes. Before I got there, they patiently answered my questions. When I was leaving, one of the managers happened to be driving through Gjirokaster and gave me a ride. They really go out of their way for guests. There’s a kitchen if you want to cook, and you can use the beach beds down below :)
