Glow Boutique Hotel & Suites

The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were lovely, always smiling. They even helped us sort out a problem with our car. The hotel is new and beautiful, with lovely rooms and a rooftop terrace offering an amazing view. There are small restaurants and a supermarket nearby, and the hotel has underground parking.

Y’all… this hotel is beautiful, but at check-in the man at the front desk told our group of 11 it might not be a good idea to wear our burkinis in the pool because other guests complain about them. Excuse me? Could we put our bags down before you start with that nonsense? No stars for you, mate. The hotel is in a lovely location, with the beach a short walk away, though you have to pay for beach access. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. The rooms and balconies are huge, and the floor-to-ceiling windows are well designed and let the sunlight fill the room beautifully.

Muslim travelers should know about our experience before booking. On arrival, we were unexpectedly asked at reception what we would wear to swim in the pool. I was told that guests sometimes complain about Muslim swimwear and that staff would have to come and tell us. I said we’d wear whatever swimwear we felt comfortable in, while respecting other people’s choices too. As paying guests, we shouldn’t have been singled out or made to feel unwelcome because of others’ possible preferences. It was a strange, uncomfortable greeting that left a bitter taste before our stay had even started. The staff did make a real effort with us afterward, but starting someone’s trip with prejudice was hurtful and unnecessary. The breakfast selection was good, but the meat advertised as halal had been placed directly on top of ham, so it wasn’t suitable for those who require halal food. At first glance the hotel seems great, with a good location, modern rooms, and nice facilities.

Armando deserves a special thanks for his outstanding service. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable and ensure we had a pleasant stay, and we’ll definitely return when we’re next in Albania. My friend and I had a wonderful time at the Glow Hotel. It’s close to everything, the pool view is breathtaking, and the hotel was spotless. Breakfast each morning was delicious and had a great variety of options. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
