Hotel Piccolino

The balcony views were the best we’ve ever seen, and hearing the sea as we fell asleep was lovely. Our room on the fourth floor had no lift access, but we managed the stairs. It came with a fridge, kettle, single bed and a two-piece settee. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was beautiful. The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly and helpful, and breakfast was lovely. It’s family-run, with lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The port is about a five-minute walk away. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The daily breakfast was the real highlight. There was plenty of fresh food, served buffet style, with hot coffee constantly replenished. The typical Albanian spread included eggs, sausages, fresh vegetables, olives and cheese, along with a few types of bread, yogurt, cereal and fresh fruit. The family running the hotel clearly puts a lot of heart into making guests feel at home. Hotel Piccolino is close to the beach, and you can walk to the city center and promenade area too. We paid for sunbeds and umbrellas at a nearby beach bar. Our room was spacious, with a sea-facing balcony and lovely view, plus a nice bathroom with a large shower and bidet/bum-gun. There’s no lift, which can be tough on the higher floors, though that’s common in Saranda. The stairwell windows have gorgeous views, so there’s something nice to look at if you stop for a breather on the way up.

This is our second visit, and my husband's third. The sea is close enough that you can hear the waves from your room, and the view is amazing. It's also very near the city centre. We love this hotel, 10/10.

The family who run the hotel were incredible. They even got up in the middle of the night and drove us to the hospital because it was quicker than emergency services. I have nothing but good things to say and would come back. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The location worked well for walking to beaches and restaurants and for exploring. The breakfast buffet wasn’t huge, but had what you needed, including coffee or tea, fried eggs, vegetables, bread, croissants and juice. They kept refilling it when things ran out.
