Privé City Hotel

We booked for a week and were given a room that was nothing like what we expected from the photos. There are only 25 rooms, yet ours seemed to be the worst one. After a long discussion with the manager and no solution, we considered leaving. The next day they offered us a completely different, better room, but asked for an extra 20€ per night. We paid 120€ more to get the kind of room we had expected from the beginning, because the first one was horrible and nothing like the website pictures. The manager was nice in the end, but I really can’t recommend this. Don’t trust the photos, they show the best rooms and then nothing.

It’s now called " Prive city hotel". The owner was very friendly and helpful, and there’s a huge parking area. From the hillside location, it’s less than a 10-minute walk to the promenade, and the rooms look out over the shore with views across the whole city. Breakfast is freshly made, with a choice of eggs and coffee, and the pie for dessert was really good. The bathrooms could be improved, though. The shower is tiny and difficult to use without splashing water everywhere.

Visi took care of everything, from suggesting places and checking we were okay to booking our cab when we left. He was such a kind and helpful guy. He even surprised me with a birthday cake at midnight, making it a memorable day. The hotel was good for the budget, with a nice view and a decent breakfast included. The place and staff were amazing. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The walk to the beaches isn’t very far, but it doesn’t feel very safe or easy on foot. The route goes downhill, with no crosswalks, and the sidewalks beside the hotel aren’t great. The balcony rooms are okay, though some are spacious and others aren’t. They’re pretty clean, but bathrooms don’t have hairdryers, so bring one if you need it.
