Executive Hotel Rafaelo Resort

The food was a disaster, cold and practically inedible, with the quality of a cheap cafeteria. Even the supposedly fresh fruit was rotten, so I had to eat outside to find something edible. Anyone booking all-inclusive here will be bitterly disappointed. The room was a nightmare, with stains on the bed and curtains, mold in the bathroom, broken old furniture, and a smell of dampness and sewage. The air conditioning either failed or made an unbearable noise, making sleep nearly impossible. The whole facility looked neglected and run-down, with no holiday atmosphere. At check-in, the staff treated us like a nuisance, and complaints were met with snappy replies, no help, and no accountability. Hotel Rafaelo was dirty, badly managed, and deeply uncomfortable. I have rarely regretted spending money this much. Avoid it.

The pool was extremely dirty, and both of my children developed rashes. I had to go to a pharmacy for cream and eye drops. For a resort that claims to be the best in Shengjin, this was absolutely not acceptable, and I would never return. Our room was reasonably clean, but the bathroom never worked properly. The broken drain left the tiles wet, and when I reported it, someone arrived without any equipment and said it was normal because it was a big hotel. The shower door was missing. The food was cold and very disappointing. One staff member, possibly named Alja, though I'm not sure, had black hair and wore a badge. In front of the guests, she took a glass, got a drink, and put the glass back. After seeing that, I told my children not to use any more glasses. The manager seemed to do little besides walk around, drink coffee, and smoke in the guest area. The staff were rude and ignorant from the beginning. Nobody even offered a polite morning greeting or seemed interested in doing their job. I booked through Sharri agency because it was my first visit from Canada, but I was very disappointed.

The room had two single mattresses instead of one double bed, which was very uncomfortable, and the bathroom and room finishes were disappointing. There were also no beach towels. Food choices were very limited and bland, drinks came from machines and tasted cheap, and snacks were basically just peanuts. The bar and restaurant were so far from the beach that getting a drink several times a day was very inconvenient. It didn't feel relaxing for a place advertised as a 5 star resort. I paid a high price expecting a 5 star executive hotel, so our expectations were much higher. In the end, we were very disappointed with the service.

In general, the resort was OK, although I expected more from a five star property. The most annoying thing was the loud, unsuitable music in the café and around Shengjin. There were also no hotel towels available for the beach, which was disappointing.
