Rafaelo Resort

The so-called spa was basically a joke. The jacuzzi, hammam, and sauna were closed or broken, and when we arrived everything was dark until we asked reception to turn on the lights. Massages had been promised, but none were available. Our room was also far below what you'd expect. The bed was much too soft, there was only one thin sheet, and the shower barely worked because of limescale. The bathroom smelled of sewer, only shampoo was supplied, and there were no other toiletries or bathrobes. Breakfast was poor quality with very little choice. The receptionist was incredibly rude and insisted on keeping my passport during the stay. We also had to pay the full amount in advance, yet our card wasn't charged until 3-4 months after we left, which was completely unacceptable. We stayed here in September and found it nowhere near five stars. We've used many spa hotels across the Balkans and Western Europe, and this was the worst, maybe 2.5 or 3 stars on a generous day. Overpriced, mismanaged, and a total disappointment.

The room and view were fine, but the staff treatment was beyond horrible. We paid for what we understood to be all inclusive, then after my mother received a portion of somewhat edible food, a woman loudly demanded to know where her wristband was and shouted that she had to leave. She questioned my mother in front of everyone as if we were at a police station, treating her like a thief while other guests stared. The situation only ended when my father intervened and paid extra for lunch. It ruined the rest of our day. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. There are plenty of places with the same or better experience, especially when it comes to the staff.

The staff were friendly, kind, and consistently helpful, and the food was good and served on time. Our room was clean, spacious, quiet, and had a lovely balcony with a nice view. The WiFi was fast and stable enough for me to work for a few hours. Martina, the cleaning lady, deserves special mention. She checked on us every day about fresh towels or anything else we needed, always with warmth and kindness. The team also prepared one of our two rooms early when we arrived before check-in, which was very helpful. I booked through the Rafaelo Facebook page, and the replies were quick, clear, and useful. The price felt very affordable, especially with the end-of-season sale, and the overall value was excellent. We will definitely return with the family. One small maintenance note for management, the curtain rod in our rooms was loose and could fall when opened widely. It didn't cause us trouble, but it seems worth fixing for safety, especially with children. Thank you, Team Rafaelo.

The cleaning team really added to the relaxing feeling of the resort. They were warm, professional, quiet, efficient, and always greeted guests with a smile. The rooms stayed spotless, the common areas were well maintained, and everything felt fresh throughout my stay. The restaurant staff were just as friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and nicely presented, and every part of the resort felt cared for and welcoming.
