Alis Hotel

We had a warm welcome and enjoyed the breakfast. Alis Hotel is right in the centre of Shkodër, yet it stays peaceful and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were especially friendly and helpful. I’d happily stay here again.

The bathroom was so small that moving around was difficult, and the tap handle was broken. Water was missing from the room, while the shower didn’t work properly, which is a basic problem for a hotel. The room was filthy and smelled disgusting, and the rusty fridge looked ancient. The thin walls meant we could hear every noise from other rooms, so there was no privacy or peace. For the price, this felt like a complete scam. The place is unhygienic, outdated, and disrespectful to paying guests. I regret booking it and strongly advise people to stay away.

The hotel has a good location, free street parking, a lift, and welcoming staff. Our room was clean but extremely small, and the bathroom was even tighter. I had to step into the shower just to close the bathroom door, while the shower head was larger than the shower itself. The bathroom floor also wasn’t clean. They kindly provided free water, a couple of sodas, and fresh grapes. The hotel is newer, but breakfast was very average. At $75, the room wasn’t worth the stay.

The rooms were very clean, and the hotel is in a modern building right in the centre. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and retail stores are all within walking distance. Compared with our experiences in Bosnia and Serbia, the breakfast was very good. There were three electricity cuts, although the generators kept things going. The AC worked, but it didn’t cool the room to the temperature we wanted.
