Arka Hostel

I only stopped in for a quick drink, so I can't comment on staying overnight. It seems like a really cool youth center for the young people of Shkodra, and there also appears to be a bar below the building.

We had warned the staff the night before that we needed to leave at 6.30 for a bus transfer, and they said that was fine. In the morning, though, every door was locked and nobody answered the phone. The only way out was to climb over the balcony to a wall and jump, and I was injured doing it, so I couldn't go on our planned hike. When we came back for our bags, we were told they open at 7. Until then, guests are locked inside with no simple exit. That's a dangerous situation, especially in an emergency or if you need to leave early.

The rooms are fairly spacious, breakfast is included, and the location is amazing. The beds and showers were good too. One funny thing is that the lockers open with any key 😄. I was told the doors are closed around 11, which is a little limiting. Still, it was a very nice hostel.

There are plenty of young people, activities, a hostel, rooms, and an amazing bar here. The only small drawback is the time they close and open, although personally it didn't bother me.
