The lady of the house was warm, welcoming, and full of class, despite us having no language in common. She left us tea and biscuits in the morning. The garden felt like an oasis of calm, peace, and love, and the beautiful house carried the lingering joy of the family who once lived there. It felt like sleeping in an authentic, cozy museum. The house needs some restoration, but staying there made me feel I was helping it perhaps return to its former glory one day. It was a lovely experience, something I rarely find in Albania.
