Diplomat Fashion Hotel

Avoid booking this place. I moved from an economy room to a double superior in one day, and both had the same awful sewer smell that clung to my clothes and followed me all day. The rooms were dusty and dirty, with a bizarre idea of fashionable decor. At midnight, you can end up left out in the cold, wondering how this is a four-star hotel. I’d steer clear.

A nice little hotel with helpful, friendly staff, good service, and a pleasant breakfast. There’s a nice spa and sauna, plus plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. A supermarket is right next door.

We had a really nice four-night stay. The room was good, and the hotel is not far from the center of Tirana. Everything was perfect, including the great breakfast. The staff were helpful and friendly, especially Uarda.

We picked the hotel for its spa, and even asked the front desk beforehand if we could use it in the morning before checkout. They said that would be fine. But when we arrived, we were told to wait 45 minutes to check in, so we went into Tirana instead. After checking in that evening, we learned that we could only use the sauna for 15 minutes, it wasn’t open in the morning, and we had to reserve in advance. We tried to book it right then, but were told to wait at least another 45 minutes. By then we were hungry and tired, so we gave up on the spa. The beds were worn and uncomfortable, the hallway smelled bad, and there wasn’t much cold water, so the showers were hot even though it was 40 degrees Celsius outside. Breakfast was okay, but not like what was shown on Booking or the hotel website. A pretty bad experience, and not worth the money.
