Emerald Boutique Hotel

The breakfast was very good, the bed was comfortable, and the service when I arrived was fine. There’s a no-smoking policy and a bidet in the bathroom. Those are the reasons I gave two stars instead of one. They don’t make up for the main problem: there’s almost no noise protection, and air pollution from the street below is a real issue. I mean, don’t put a hotel on a main road with balconies where guests are right above buses, vans, trucks, and all the smoke they produce. And if you do put it there, at least soundproof the windows. That’s basic. Even with the windows shut, I could hear the unbearable traffic all day and night as if they were wide open. I’ve never experienced anything that bad at a hotel or guesthouse. I’d paid for three nights, but on my first and only evening I asked if I could get a refund if I left early. The guy said he’d ask his boss. By 23:45 I’d had enough and decided to leave the next morning. At breakfast I asked the lady about a refund, and she said no. Well, I wasn’t going to make myself suffer more just because I’d already spent the money. Let the money go to waste. A total rip-off. I learned my lesson about staying at hotels in Tiranë, no loss there. I left within two hours and will NEVER visit them again. For your health and rest, DO NOT STAY AT THAT HOTEL.

The rooms are a perfect size, and ours had a large balcony facing the main road. It was a big help to have free parking on such a busy road. The hotel is very nice and close to the center, with excellent service. Nothing is too much to ask, and the lady at reception, I believe her name is Mira, is the best part of the place.

It looks nice, but it doesn’t work well in practice. The AC either doesn’t work or is set so low that it barely does anything, leaving it hot and muggy inside. Breakfast is just basic cold bread, and the toaster seems to be there for looks since you can’t toast your bread. Lots of basic necessities are lacking.

The staff were professional and excellent, always available and very kind. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful too. I strongly recommend staying here.
