If we could have given zero stars, we would have. We arrived late after delays at the Macedonian border, checked in, then went out for New Year’s Eve dinner elsewhere. When we got back from celebrating in Tirana, we looked closely at the room and found it didn’t meet basic hygiene standards. The toilet sink was dirty, with limescale that looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned since opening day. The uncovered blankets had stains we couldn’t identify, and the nightstands seemed not to have been cleaned in months. The window wouldn’t close, so we were cold all night and covered ourselves with our jackets. There was also an unbearable smell coming from the bathroom. No coffee or water was provided in the room. We checked out a day early and booked another hotel. When we raised the problems, the desk staff said the owner wouldn’t come speak with us and a refund for the second night wasn’t possible. We left devastated, without even having a bite of breakfast. We’d experienced Albanian hospitality and cleanliness at every other hotel around Albania, but not here.

The hosts were very friendly, and we felt comfortable. Tirana is beautiful and the people are really nice. I’d happily stay at the same hotel again.

The stay itself was great, everything felt just right, and I’d happily recommend the hotel. The restaurant could use better staff training, though, and clearer explanations of the breakfast choices. A few times, even the basic customer service seemed to be missing.

We held an event at Oxigen Hotel that was both official and festive, and the organization was excellent. The hotel has an attractive look and spaces for different kinds of events. Its rooms were comfortable and clean, the food was fresh, and the staff were generally professional and decent to deal with. Given the service and price, I think Oxigen Hotel is a good choice when visiting Tirana.

The restaurant has become my favorite place to eat in Tirana. Its traditional and Mediterranean dishes work so well together, and everything I tried was delicious. The staff were attentive and really friendly. I’ve also stayed at the hotel, which was clean, with modern, spacious rooms and comfortable beds. I’d definitely recommend Oxygen Boutique Hotel & Restaurant when traveling to Tirana.
