The power was out from Saturday until it got dark, despite staff saying it would only take an hour. A hotel calling itself four-star should have a generator. When I asked about a refund, they wanted to know why, and said the outage affected all the neighbors too. I also found the staff barely spoke English. The polished replies the hotel posts to reviews don't match what I experienced. They seemed like young students in uniforms, not professional hotel staff. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I stayed at Triss Hotel in September 2025. A ring and an earring went missing from my belongings, so I reported it at reception and the police were informed. The owner made me question whether I had brought the jewelry at all, and I withdrew my complaint because I wanted to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and had no proof then. Back home in Switzerland, I have now confirmed with 100% certainty that the pieces aren't there. I believe I was stolen from inside the hotel. I was handled so poorly that I doubted myself, and management didn't take the matter seriously. When I contacted them again, they asked for proof such as photos of the jewelry in my room. That's unrealistic: guests don't expect to be robbed in a supposedly safe hotel and take pictures of their jewelry there. Instead of taking responsibility, they put the blame back on me. I'll continue the case with the police and possibly the prosecution, and intend to involve the media so people know what happens here. My advice is not to stay at Triss Hotel. I believe there's a risk of theft, and management doesn't take guests seriously when something this serious happens.

The room was filthy and rundown, with holes in the floor and walls, broken furniture, no TV remote, and far fewer toiletries than advertised. The online pictures don't show what it's actually like. Cleaning staff made only one of our two beds, took three towels and left just one clean replacement, didn't empty the bins or clean anything else, and seemed to have moved and touched our bags. They had left for the day when we got back, so the room was never finished and we got no more towels. The water in the fridge was supposedly complimentary, but the bottles were already open, refilled with tap water, unsealed, and smelled bad. On top of that, my card was charged more at check-in than the amount I agreed to pay on Booking.com. Reception was a mess too. The first and second shift staff, who seemed very young, were hardly ever around, difficult to find, rude, and unhelpful. They acted as if we were bothering them just by coming and going. During a blackout on Saturday, we had no electricity from 10:30am to 5:00pm. I know outages happen in Albania, but a place advertising itself as four-star, or more like two-star, should have a generator, especially in such a trendy neighborhood. My Albanian family in Tirana were appalled there wasn't one. We went to reception several times, and my family came too, but no one would explain the power situation or tell us how to get a refund if we left. No one even apologized. Staff were rude when we asked to leave and get our money back, and said we couldn't have a refund, not even for that night. The restaurant staff downstairs had told us the power would be out for only an hour, so we stayed. After checkout, the property messaged that they could have refunded us if we'd left. This was very different from my stay in 2023, when I had an excellent time in the same room, though even then I knew the four-star label was a joke. The hotel has gone downhill badly since then. I'm still trying to get a refund for the night we stayed after being repeatedly lied to. I believe staff lied to keep our money. A SCAM HOTEL. Do not stay here. Lots of smaller things bothered us too, but we kept overlooking them until the problems got worse every day. Ridiculous and unprofessional.

We left at 8 a.m. and couldn't even bring ourselves to eat breakfast there. Around 4 in the morning, two men in the next room, apparently German, were shouting through a heated argument and had all of us stressed out. I went to reception to report it, but the guard was asleep and said nothing was happening, maybe the shouting was coming from outside. A truly awful stay.

Wi-Fi was the one small letdown, as the connection could be stronger in some parts of the hotel. The rest of my stay at Triss Hotel was excellent. The rooms felt modern, spacious and spotless, with comfortable beds, good lighting and the amenities you'd expect at a high-end boutique hotel. I especially liked the balcony view in the morning. Breakfast had plenty of tasty fresh choices, and the on-site restaurant served well-prepared local and international food in the evenings. The interiors are beautifully designed, and the friendly, professional staff were always ready to help with directions or nearby places to visit. Their warmth made a real difference. It's a stylish, comfortable and welcoming place in Albania, and I'd happily stay again.
