We stayed one night, and the hotel was nothing like the advertisement. The room was disgusting. I emailed the property to say we'd check out the next day, and I have concrete proof that we stayed only one night. I paid €47 in cash because they didn't know how to use their card facility. They also tried to charge a conversion fee of 1000 to LEK instead of 960. Later, you emailed to ask why I hadn't stayed at the hotel, and I replied with the details above. Then I saw a pending card charge for two nights. We went back to the hotel, where we had stayed next door, and showed them the pending transaction. They said I hadn't stayed there, despite the facts. I took a photo of their register showing my passport number in their ledger. The manager assured me he'd fix the situation. Now the charge for the two-night no-show has been deducted from my card. This is downright fraud, and I'll be informing my credit card company. I'm extremely unhappy that booking.com hasn't looked into this and relied on the hotel's lies. I can send photos of the hovel of a room we stayed in and their guest register if you ever investigate my complaint. My original message three days ago said I'd be contacted within 24 hours, and I'm still waiting.

The restaurant was a highlight, with indoor and outdoor seating and especially good seafood. Eating outside by the lake, with the breeze, made for a lovely atmosphere. Hotel Sirena is right by the serene lake in Pogradec, Albania, just steps from the beach, with pretty views and a peaceful feel. The staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. It was a delightful find and a relaxing place to enjoy a meal by the lake.

The service was poor. We ordered the local Coran fish, but had to send it back twice because it wasn't fully cooked. We still had to pay for food we didn't eat. There was no apology, and the waiter seemed not to care and wasn't attentive.

The surroundings are beautiful, with a spectacular view and a peaceful atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, and the cuisine is the best in the vicinity. The price is reasonable too.
