Valbona Resort & Spa

The mountain scenery is amazing, and breakfast was delicious. I also found the staff friendly and professional. Valbona Resort & Spa has lovely architecture, free parking, and a spacious, comfortable room with a large, clean bathroom. The spa facilities are excellent, with a pool, sauna, and other ways to unwind. I'd gladly recommend it to anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature.

I've stayed at Valbona Resort & Spa six times, and each visit has been just right. It's easy and pleasant to reach by road, with gorgeous nature all around. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and spotless, the service is outstanding, and the fresh organic food is delicious. I'm already looking forward to another weekend there with friends.

The rooms and amenities were clean and very good, and the restaurant was decent, though a little overpriced and not exceptional. I gave four stars because the staff were unfriendly and unsmiling, and made us feel like we were bothering them. The ladies at the spa were the only ones who were welcoming and kind. They'd be a much better fit for reception and restaurant service! :)

I only ate here, I didn't stay overnight. The main course was a pizza, since it was the only meat-free choice, and it was awful. I've had better pizza completely drunk at 3am in a random train station. The starter soup arrived quickly but was nearly cold, and only tasted okay, nothing special. At least it was something I couldn't improve at home only if served hot? The drinks were hit or miss: at the restaurant I got water but not the beer I'd ordered, while at the bar before dinner my wine came but the water didn't. It took 40 minutes for anyone to take my bar order after seating me, then another ten minutes for half of it to arrive. They seem to be aiming for a five-star hotel, but in my opinion they're missing the basics. I don't feel bad leaving a poor but honest review when this place may be putting local guesthouses out of business. It feels like a rip-off in an area that's still developing, as if they're hoping to become the first big player. I also ended up here because my guesthouse didn't offer dinner. I'd recommend booking a private guesthouse that serves dinner instead. The food should be better, and you'll support local businesses.
