Ames Hotel & SPA

We found the stay at Hotel Ames good value. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, and the location worked perfectly for getting to both the beach and city center. There’s a small, nice pool and free parking, which is a real plus if you’re driving. And the coffee is great!!! A building under construction directly in front blocks some of the view, but there was no noise, so it didn’t bother us. Very good experience, would recommend.

Parking was a huge plus. We had no trouble finding a spot, and getting to the hotel was easy, which matters in Vlorë where parking elsewhere is chaotic. Breakfast was good, with options that should suit everyone. We chose the largest room with the bubble bath. It worked well, though the controls were hard to figure out because the labels had worn off. There was no kettle, coffee, or tea in the room, but reception lent us a kettle and coffee was available at the bar. The hotel no longer really has a sea view because new hotels have gone up in front. The SPA is quite limited too, and I think there are better options elsewhere. The room's TV was another letdown: it ran an ancient Android TV system that couldn't be updated, so Netflix, HBO, and other streaming services didn't work. There were no international channels either, though YouTube worked fine. For this price, we expected more, which is why I’m leaving this review.

The rooftop patio was lovely, and the service was great all around. Staff were friendly and courteous, the spaces were clean, and the price was affordable. Breakfast came buffet-style, with lots of tasty, healthy choices.

I chose the best suite they had and wasn’t disappointed. The jacuzzi was great, the bathroom was clean, and the room stayed tidy the whole time. The sea view was very welcome too, even with some obstruction from construction sites. A lovely hotel by the seaside.
