Cathedral Plaza Gyumri Hotel

Most of the tourist attractions are within walking distance. If you're visiting Gyumri without a car, we recommend staying here. One day is enough to explore the city.

Our experience was awful. We accidentally left a brand new washbasin in the room. When we called reception the next day, administrator Marina told us the person who cleaned the room had simply thrown it away. Our belongings can apparently be discarded without asking. Marina was rude when we objected and wouldn't let us explain. We were then given the number for Nushavan because we wanted him to know how she spoke to guests and that she hadn't let us get a word in. Instead, we were told the washbasin wouldn't be returned. We were also told that if it had really mattered to us, we would have kept a closer eye on it. In effect, we were blamed for losing our own belongings, as if the loss were our problem. We were also told we couldn't come back to the hotel after 2 am, a rule nobody had mentioned when we checked in. We returned from a holiday with relatives at 4 am and were met with threats and hints that our photos might be posted somewhere. The whole experience was deeply negative: rude treatment, no responsibility for guests' belongings, and strange rules only mentioned afterward. We absolutely don't recommend this hotel.

What stood out most was how helpful and friendly the staff were. They offered advice on places to see, and the atmosphere made us feel at home. The Chief Hotel is right in the center of historic Gyumri, with old streets, 19th-century buildings, museums, squares, cozy cafes, and souvenir shops all within walking distance. Our room was spacious, clean, and well equipped, with comfortable beds, fresh linens, stable Wi-Fi, hot water, and a quiet feel that made it easy to relax after a day out. We were very pleased with our stay and would happily return. The Chief Hotel brings together a great location, comfort, and good service.
