Kotun Gyumri

The hosts were genuinely kind and easy to talk with. I enjoyed hearing about Armenia’s history and the area, and they gave me great suggestions for food and unusual sights around town. They even kept my bag safe after checkout since my train was later, and went out of their way to make the stay good. The guesthouse is clean and cosy, with everything well done, and the central location makes it easy to walk to the train and bus stations and the main part of Gyumri. Communication was excellent. Highly recommended.

This hostel exceeded our expectations. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the city center, recently renovated, and very well run. It offers a nice balance of privacy and chances to socialize, one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.

The kitchen has all the appliances you need, and the owners were friendly, helpful, and generous with suggestions for things to do in Gyumri. I especially liked the interior, it felt welcoming and cool. There’s a big terrace with different seating, covers, and cute lights, plus a cosy, cool basement where you can hang out. Everything else was good too. Lovely place.

A host who knows the city and can suggest places to eat and see makes a big difference. The kitchen and common areas are set up for meeting other travellers, while the rooms have shared bathrooms to keep costs down. To me, this is what a modern hostel should be.
