Old Halidzor

The hosts are so kind they make you feel at home, and the cabin Mountain View adds something special to the meal. I spent some time in the region and tried different food, but ate here several times. Within a 20 KM radius, I can’t think of a better place for lunch or dinner. Even the simple spas soup stands out, with yoghurt that has a real agrarian spirit to it. The food is cooked with care and to a level of perfection I haven’t found elsewhere. For a tip, try the “soup of Tan” instead of Spas, and don’t skip the eggplant salad. It’s not really a salad, more like bites made in heaven.

Breakfast was one of the best parts, fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, far beyond what we expected. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the essentials arranged thoughtfully. The owner and staff were wonderful. They speak only a little English, but communicated really well and made sure our stay went smoothly. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel right at home. I highly recommend this place to tourists looking for a warm welcome and excellent service. It’s a hidden gem and good value, with a memorable stay.

The rooms were clean, and the staff treated us politely, but the stay was still far below what we expected. There was no hot water, and the rooms lacked lamps and other basic amenities. The menu we had agreed on beforehand also wasn't ready when we arrived. Old Halidzor Hotel didn't deliver the conditions it advertised, so I can't recommend it without major improvements.
