The biggest drawbacks were the third-floor WiFi, which didn't reach the rooms even with the repeater, and a shower head that only dribbled. The restaurant WiFi worked well, though. Breakfast was tasty and generously sized for 2000 dram. Our bed creaked and felt hard, but the room had beautiful light. The linens seemed clean, and staff kept up the historic building despite its obvious disrepair, with flowers adding a nice touch. It's a quirky, fascinating place to spend a night. The staff were very kind: the man checking us in spoke English, and the woman serving breakfast patiently put up with my very broken Russian.

The place's history adds something special to the stay, and the staff were kind. There are a lot of stairs, but the location and amazing view make them worthwhile. We visited in the first week of June. The daytime cold was bearable, but the night was extremely cold, and even the provided blanket, which didn't smell very good, wasn't enough. The rooms were okay for the affordable price. The bathroom flooded because the shower was level with the floor and had no divider.

I chose this hotel for its history and my interest in Soviet architecture. But the breakfast food wasn't fresh, and when we went for dinner at around 8 PM, the dining room was already closed. We had to look elsewhere for somewhere to eat where we wouldn't get scammed.

Seeing this beautiful building had been a dream, so I walked up hoping to go inside. Instead, an angry, large bald man shouted, “This isn’t a museum, GET OUT,” then aggressively ushered us back out. I wanted to love the place, but protect your souls and admire it from a distance. Why buy a historic landmark and refuse to share it with the world?
