Hotel Multi Grand Resort Tsaghkadzor

The restaurant was a real letdown on International Women’s Day. We’d booked for two eight days ahead, but were first directed to a table by the restroom and waited around half an hour. They eventually put us at a small table in a distant corner. Service was slow and unprofessional, with no complimentary gesture for the occasion. We also paid for breakfast on both days. The previous morning’s buffet was the poorest selection we’ve seen at a hotel claiming five stars. The next day there wasn’t a buffet, and what we got seemed to be leftovers from the day before. The room was large, but that was about the only thing that felt five-star. Basic items like an iron, shower cap, shoe-cleaning kit, and other small essentials were missing. Getting fresh bath towels took four requests, and they didn’t arrive until 5 PM. Worse, brown water came from both the bathroom tap and shower. We told reception straight away, but nothing was done for five to six hours. When we raised it again, they told us to use bottled water to wash. That felt very unprofessional. Service and organization were extremely poor throughout. Based on our stay, this place doesn’t meet five-star standards and would have trouble qualifying even as a three-star hotel.

The skiing was good, but service was a different story. Staff seemed kind and responsive at first, though they were so busy that requests were often refused or promised and then forgotten. Even getting the cocktail we ordered and the receipt took an hour. We stayed from 31 Dec to Jan 3. On the evening of Jan 2 the power went out for four to five hours, and all we got were excuses.
