Aghababyan's Hotel

During our stay at Aghababyan’s Hotel in Yerevan, from October 8 to 15, 2025, everything seemed fine until the last full day. That's when my father noticed that 300 USD was missing from his wallet in the room. Nothing else was gone, and he'd kept the money safely inside his bag. We told reception right away. The staff were polite, but didn't help much. They suggested we'd made a mistake and said this sort of thing “never happen” at the hotel. A manager came over and said they “check the cleaners every month,” but there wasn't a real investigation. We called the police ourselves. The officers who came were dismissive and suggested my father had misplaced the cash. The hotel also acknowledged that its security cameras either didn't record or weren't working properly. In the end, with pressure from the police and hotel, my father was asked to sign a statement saying the money had been “found,” so the case wouldn't go forward. We gave management time to review things internally, but they have since stopped replying to our messages. I understand incidents can happen anywhere. What was deeply disappointing was the lack of transparency and accountability. I'd tell future guests to be very careful with valuables and not rely on the hotel's internal procedures or “security systems.”

They were really untrustworthy. On the first day, they charged us more than the real price. I complained, they apologized, and gave me the money back in cash even though I'd paid by card. After a week, we cancelled the final night because of our flight. They agreed and promised a refund, but two months later the issue still wasn't resolved. I messaged them several times, as shown in the photo, and they never replied or contacted me about it. I've already asked my legal insurance to start a case against them!

The reception staff were cold, slow, and unhelpful, and the lobby and corridors were noisy from early morning, which disrupted our rest. I had explained my requests in advance, especially as it was my honeymoon, but almost all of them were missed. The honeymoon room setup wasn't done as requested, and although I asked specifically for a king bed, they gave me two twin beds pushed together. That was uncomfortable and unacceptable, and they still charged extra. The minibar was switched off, so it was useless. I also had to ask every time for basic things like water, glasses, tissues, and ice. The service and attitude were far below what a guest should expect, especially on a honeymoon. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone looking for professionalism, comfort, or proper hospitality.

The rooms were fantastic, clean, and well maintained. Great service too, definitely recommend.
