Ariam Boutique-hotel

It was a pleasant stay, though a little overpriced. The hotel is small and right in the middle of Yerevan, and the service was really friendly. Our room was under the roof at the back, nice but small and somewhat dark. Breakfast was good, but it was served in a windowless basement.

On our second day, my friend moved here from the neighboring Hotel Boulevard, and we both thought this place was cleaner and nicer. The main downside is that there’s no elevator, which could be a real hassle with heavy bags or for anyone with mobility issues.

Of the four breakfasts, only one was properly made. There’s no elevator, and the beds and mattresses felt fake, while the walls seemed flimsy and offered no sound insulation. The whole setup felt badly put together. I can’t see how they charge 90 Euros for this. It feels like another tourist trap, which seems common in the country.

We stayed at Aratta Boutique Hotel for four nights, and the central spot made it easy to walk to all the main sights in Yerevan. Our room overlooked a park and was fairly quiet. I think a completely quiet room in the busy, lively center is hard to find. For what we paid, it felt like good value: the room was fairly modern and clean, with a nice balcony, and breakfast and 24/7 reception were included. They also arranged a very late check-out for a reasonable fee. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room could use a few things: there was just one chair on the balcony, no table or chair inside, no bedroom trash can, and no towel hangers in the bathroom. One particular staff member was also quite rude to us on checkout day, which is why I’m giving it 4/5 stars.
