We spent Friday night at Avan Plaza Hotel and had a pleasant stay. Breakfast was tasty and had a good range of options. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and made us feel comfortable and welcome. A convenient, nice place to stay in Yerevan.

The double rooms were spacious, the air conditioning worked well, and the room was mostly clean. But the listing didn’t say before booking that there’s no reception or proper entrance, or that breakfast comes through room service because there’s no restaurant or bar. It’s an unusual setup, and it’s a shame guests aren’t told. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes whenever I entered, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. That felt disrespectful and unhealthy. There was also a bad sewage smell in the ground-floor bathroom. The room didn’t have a kettle, despite the description. Breakfast was very basic and the same each day, with no pastries or cakes to go with the coffee. After a few days, the staff started bringing smaller portions. Some of the service women were rude and arrogant when I asked questions. The parking guys, thankfully, were very nice and helpful. When I gave my feedback, the staff member listened, but shortly after we left, she repeated it to a colleague sarcastically. I found that very unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The food was good, and the rooms were clean, but I couldn’t get any peace at night. The hotel is across from a road, and I could hear all the cars from my room. Doors kept slamming, and staff were yelling down the hall. They only cleaned the rooms when asked.
